Pretty Heat Embossing

I created the pretty background for this card using a set of clear stamps and embossing powder.   I'm sharing pictures of the products, since I have a bad habit of throwing away packaging, and I have no idea of the brands.  I can take a wild guess at the embossing powders and say they are Doodlebug, but don't hold me to it.  Any embossing powders will do.  Each of the dotted squares on the stamps are individual pieces, so I tediously stamped each one on white cardstock, using a Perfect Medium stamp pad by Ranger, but again, any clear embossing ink pad will do.  So, I stamped the biggest square first, sprinkled on the embossing powder and continued this pattern until I had all of the squares stamped and covered with powder.  It's a tedious process, but the only way to get each square a different color.  Be very careful not to touch the powder once you apply it, because as you can see, I smudged mine (bottom right corner).  Until you heat set it, the powder will rub right off.  After I had all of the squares covered in embossing powder, I set it with a heat gun.
The butterfly is a small QuicKutz set.  Using my Spellbinders Grand Calibur, I cut two layers of the butterfly wings and used foam dimensional dots in between the two layers, to add dimension.  I used a Pearl Pen (Ice White) by Viva, to create a "trail" for the sentiment, which is a clear stamp by Whimsical Designs.  What I really like about the Pearl Pen is the ability to create different size "pearls".  It dries much quicker than Stickles and it looks just like those more expensive self-adhesive type pearls.  Pearl Pens come in many different colors.
So there you have it....a fun and creative way to create your own colorful background.
