I LOVE HALLOWEEN!!!
I thought it would be so much fun to put together a little Halloween party kit for when the grandkids come over to do their trick-or-treating. There's 6 of them, but I planned for 8, because sometimes we have a few cousins tagging along.
I've got all sorts of stuff going on here, but the darling little characters are my favorite part. Most of them are from My Creative Time's Too Cute to Spook stamp set, which comes with coordinating dies. The handsome little vampire is also MCT, Fangtastic Day stamp (& die) set and he is the star attraction on the cover of the invitation! Just look at him, all dapper and GQ-Ready!
I used SU Watercolor Paper, since I had to make a bunch of these I figured water coloring was the quickest way to get the job done. I used a clear alpha stamp set that seemed to have a suitable design and the SU! Rich Razzleberry ink to throw some purple into the mix. "Come if you dare!" was created on my Cricut Explore in CDS and it was hassle-free for a change. Sometimes that software gets the best of me. Added some sequins, a party-crashing spider from the same MCT set, a bat from my old, go-to Cuttlebug cut & emboss set. Some SU Dimensionals because everything looks better in dimension, and I think this party will be rocking sooner then expected.
The banner base was cut with my Stampin' Up! Banner Frameliets dies. I thought about doing something larger with my Cricut Explore, but felt the little characters would seem lost on a larger background. I used 4 or 5 different embossing folders for the orange top panel and it added some interesting dimension along with the gauze background stamp and the Stampin' Dimensionals. For me, it's all about the little details. The bats and spiders are from various punches (Martha Stewart) and metal dies (Cuttlebug)
The pinwheels were easily cut, punched and assembled using the We R Memories Pinwheel Punch Board. I continued with the gauze pattern stamp and also used a polka dot stamp, which works well with the Recollections pp. I popped on a MCT ghost to the centers. I had to "borrow" two of them for another project photo shoot, but they are back where they belong, spinning away on the pinwheels.
The all-new Stitched Treat Sleeve Die, again from My Creative Time, is the perfect size for holding home-baked goodies, and my daughter will be making a few batches of cute Halloween cookies to stuff these with, 'cause this grandma doesn't do baking very well.
The baker-daughter is also whipping up dozens of Halloweenie cupcakes, and it took no time at all for me to whip up these cupcake picks. I always get the hard part of the job, don't I?
I quickly added some grey Copic detail to the little guy and used the label from the stitched belly band dies.
Is this not the cutest little mummy? It makes me want to wrap up all of my grandkids in duct tape toilet paper! HAHAHA! That'll keep 'em quiet for a good 10 minutes. I should probably mention that I LOVE my grandchildren. To pieces. LOL!
And since I had a few bags of 1-inch gumballs, I thought, "why not?" The Teeny Tag dies are the perfect size for these little clear treat boxes. The moms aren't going to be too happy about the gumballs, but don't they look cool?
These itty-bitty pillow boxes were left over from a previous project, and again, the Teeny Tags dies were put to use. I have the spiders I put the spiders through as well. So on the tags they went. I wish they sold the mini M & M's in Halloween colors. What's up with that?!
