Okay, so I'm a little behind with this room renovation. Finally picked up the paint at Home Depot. It's a bright, cheerful shade of green called Fresh Guaccamoleby Glidden. I started off with a Shur-Line paint edger to cut in the ceiling and door & window frames. What a time saver this gadget is! I painted the entire room WITHOUT any of that blue tape. One coat was all I needed for the most part, but because I had missed a few spots and considering I still had some paint left, I went over much of it again with a quick second coat. It dried so evenly and looks beautiful! I purchased 2 gallons but only needed one gallon for the entire room. Pretty efficient, huh?
I've never painted an entire room on my own and I must say I am quite pleased with how it turned out and even the hubby commented on what a great job I did. I also should mention that it took me approximately 3 hours from start to finish and I did stop at one point for a coffee break. Had I removed the larger pieces of furniture from the center of the room, I would have been done sooner.
Tomorrow I will sand all of the wood trim before giving it a fresh coat of white paint. So be sure to come back for more photos and tips!
Here's a few sneak peeks
The paint is not fully dry in the above photo, which is why there are some lighter spots
Although the door is being replaced, I couldn't help but paint it!
More photos tomorrow, once the white trim is all done.
